Pancetta, Cremini Mushrooms and Bucatini – Pasta Episode 181

This is a very simple pasta dish to make and well worth the little bit of  time it takes to render the pancetta.

    saw this episode at 5 oclock and went out to buy the ingredients needed. made it with some whole wheat tagliatelle and the flavor combo was awesome – nice recipe.

    Great, love it!nnIt’s great to see you showing us the proper way to sauce pasta – just a light coating.nnUntil recently, I’ve always been a “I’m having a little bit of pasta with my huge bowl of sauce” kind of guy.nnNow I realize that in Italy, when you enjoy a pasta dish, first and for most, you are enjoying a PASTA dish, with some light, complimentary coating of sauce. I want to eat more and more like that.nnLooks good! Thanks.

    Glad it came out good for you- The whole wheat pastas have come along so far sometimes it ishard to believe they are wholewheat- gonna start mixing some whole wheat into my pasta doughs and pizza crusts- I guess every little bit can only help- Thanks for checking the site out- I appreciate it- ugh sorry my replies never got posted to the site- all still in my admin area- sorry about that.

    Thanks and yeah I try only to drink at 10am on Sundays when making sauce or sometimes on Saturday if I am setting up the smoker and only once in a while on Fridays if I am off work in the summer. Mondays every so often when it is a holiday but never on Tuesday, Wed or Thursday in the morning – unless it thanksgiving, Christmas or Christmas Ever or New Years or New Years Eve but that is it!

    Thanks for checking it out and yes I am very much a minimalist when it comes to sauce – and I think much in Italy with the light sauces has to do with the availability of the ingredients. I am sure they had to make due over the years with much less than we have- and lucky for us it worked- Thanks again for watching. Sorry you are getting this response so late- my comments over the past month didn’t seem to really update to the blog so I am doing them all over now.

    Thanks Pete- I really would like to figure something out where we all can just hang out drink and I will just cook and we can eat all day- We should do like a Giants/Jets doubleheader and just eat and drink for 8 hours!

    Excellent I wish I had more- I really am digging the Vino Nobile’s though they are hard to find- even WL only has one is stock right now- Also just had a beautiful rustic red wine from Sardignia – It is in my CT consumed bottle list- I will get you the name

    My wife- she thinks it is a good idea to put a candle there and then gets pissed when it turns to liqued because I forget to take it off before lighting a candle-LOL
