Stuffed Peppers With Slow Roasted Pork – Episode 179

By Patrick

Sorry this was shot with the camera handheld so it may be a little choppy- also these stuffed peppers baked for about 30 minutes. The pork used was left over from a pork loin which I slow roasted- the pork was rubbed with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cyan pepper, brown sugar, salt, pepper and coriander. It was then placed in the oven with some apple juice in the bottom of the pan and slow roasted at 225 for about 6 hours.

6 hours? Wow! Apple juice? Incredible!

Boy does that ever look delicious!

I'll be watching for the review of the cheese. Very different, I'll say that.

What wonderful, real food you make!

Hey Patrick…I think the garlic was burned in the saute pan. The end result looked fantastic!

  • castello

He would never burn the garlic!

Thanks for the kind words – yeah I am a big fan of slow roasting meats for various reasons but 2 of the main ones are that it allows me to spend extra time making a more complicated side dish as I do not have to worry about checking or flipping or over cooking the main dish- also it really allows you to take an inexpensive cut of meat and work some magic with it- I also tend to do a lot of long slow braised dishes also- another thing – ok make it 3 is that slow roasting allows you to work with much larger cuts of meats which leaves plenty of left overs-

  • KAHUNA

LOL it may have been very brown- I used to burn garlic a lot more than I do now- generally I cut the garlic much thicker now to help ward off the burning- they did come out very good

  • KAHUNA

Might be the camera- I got one of those only add 5 pounds on cameras- I wish it were true and I just got back from a few days down the shore and a few cheesesteaks, gyros, pizza, fudge, ice cream, french fries…well I could let Little Kahuna eat alone
