Hirtenkase Reserve Cheese Taste Test Tuesday Episode 174
BySo we did the Hirtenkase cheese a little while back and after the episode published, I received word from my buddy Anthony Soriano about the reserve version of this cheese- I was intrigued to say the least and it turns out the reserve version is select cheeses that are then aged longer. Gourmet Library gets this cheese in from time to time so be on the look out for it.

I'm glad that you enjoyed the cheese. I was fortunate enough to get a super secret sample from Justin over at the Gourmet Library. I'll be sure to let you know of any other cheeses I think you should try. I want to get some more of that Iowa cheddar from the 7/10 open house.

I also picked up a 10-year aged cheddar from Wisconsin that day. I'm pretty sure it's available still, but that one from Iowa blew my mind.

I have to get more of that cheese also – the really aged cheddars can be great -sometimes some of them get a bit to dry for me-
