2007 Bosco dei Cirmioli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo – Episode 76

By Patrick

I am always on the look out for an inexpensive bottle of Italian wine that you can cook with and drink. The wine needs to have little oak treatment and not be an overbearing fruit bomb- Well this wine at $4.99 almost fit the bill perfectly but its shortfall is that it needs about an hour of airtime to become drinkable- So if you are making sauce at 9 am and need some wine for the sauce and your mental health this one will need a little time open to drink.  This is made from the Montepulciano grape and has nothing to do with the famous wine-making town of the same name which generally uses Sangiovese to make their wines.
