Generally I do most of my pizzas on the grill but it was super cold and windy so I decided to park that pie in the oven. This was a quick pie made with some stuff we had in the fridge which came out very good. The Mortadella takes on a great flavor upon cooking so even if you do not like it normally I think you will enjoy it this way.
This is a nice little wine from the Douro, Portugal – A white blend that delivers a nice drink for under $9. I have had this a few times and the earlier bottle I had scored an 88 while this one I come in around 86. Try it and decide for yourself- everyone is different as my wife did not like this wine all that much and yet liked the D’arenberg Dry Dam Riesling which I was not fond of.
This is a fun Taste Test Tuesday cause well it has 2 things I love Prosciutto and Cheese! Also this was a bit of a fun learning episode also as doing some research for this was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about Sardinia and the history of a cheese that is a family favorite Pecorino Romano. Check back to this post again as I plan on adding some more fun facts to it.
So this is basically the final video of the Lasagna – though there are a few small videos that will go up after this- This video takes us through assembly of the grand ole dame. Sadly no video of her coming out of the oven but I was able to get some video of one last sad little piece. Enjoy!
Tomato Paste Taste Test Tuesday – Episode 143
By · CommentsTomato Paste is a very versatile ingredient that often gets overlooked or only used when making a big red sauce for pasta. Paste comes in cans and also tubes for added versatilaity. What is nice about the tubes of paste is that it gives you more of a chance to experiment using in other dishes. Making a quick sauce on the stove for meat you can add a dash of paste in adding another layer of flavor to the dish, along with anchovy paste in the tube I think they should be a staple in every cook’s fridge.
Paste is mostly used in red sauce to help give it body and a depth of flavor not often achieved with tomatoes on their own. I like to use it for making quick sauces for pizza or a light base for a focaccia bread. Enjoy
